Chew On Me

The intra oral pH probe measures acidity and temperature inside people’s mouths continuously for 12 hours and transmits the live data to a mobile phone using the latest wireless technology. This is a world’s first, and used in scientific research to help understand the relationship between pH, gum disease, and tooth decay.

As a collaboration between Kamahi and University of Otago (led by Prof Mauro Farella), Kamahi was a one-stop shop for this project, contributing with knowledge about wireless data transmission, miniaturization, ultra low power and firmware design.
